Thus begins the play directed by Tomasz Sapryk, entitled: “Fork in the head”, which is the crowning of the 50th anniversary of Elżbieta Jarosik's artistic work. Her masterfully played Teresa - a housewife who will stop at nothing to achieve her goal, will play to tears, scare, surprise and move at times.
Together with two daughters: Paulina (Katarzyna Maciąg/ Andželika Piechowiak) — a local librarian, idealist with complexes and a frustrated old lady in one and Ewa (Anna Jarosik/Milena Suszyńska) — a big-city femme fatale, conceited and arrogant, who is almost at ease with the reflection of mommy, they will create a trio that you will not forget for a long time. Among these temperamental ladies, the neighbor Witek (Kamil Kula/ Mikołaj Roznerski) will try to somehow survive — a shy mechanic, lost in the thicket of intrigues and lies of conflicting women. And in the background, daddy's funeral, gambling debts, a long-standing conflict between the sisters, the theft of her husband from before the altar and... a fork, which by no means performs the role typical of its culinary destiny.
The show, full of cut dialogues, surprising situations and a familiar sense of humor, exposes the absurdity of everyday conflicts, showing the complicated nature of women's relationships, longings and daily struggle with reality. It allows you to look at them from a completely different, sometimes crazy perspective. Is it possible to find love, understanding, or maybe even a little happiness in this chaos?
Convince yourself by entering the world of the absurd, the grotesque, the crime novel and the thriller in one, because that is where “The Fork in the Head” will take you. To a world that seems strangely familiar to you...
I must admit that from the very first scenes I was drawn into wonderful monologues and exchanges between the protagonists. It was life itself! For me it is all the more interesting that all the time I was aware that I see and hear the world of the family from the perspective of women (...) But in the end, a male raisin appears on the scene in the form of a neighbor. Kamil Kula has the “entrance of the dragon”. He plays such a “Smurf ciamajda” and it is in addition with a defect in pronunciation that arouses enthusiasm in the audience. And he has three ladies against him! I can't give details, but I really strongly encourage you to watch this unequal duel. Because from the moment the guy appears on stage until the end of the show, the action picks up such momentum, with simultaneous rumination and such wonderful lyrics, that I'm probably not the only one who was disappointed that the break in the show happened so quickly and I was looking forward to the continuation. There is something to watch and there is something to listen to!
If anyone expects entertainment at a good level from the theater — here it is, here it is (...) First of all, thanks to the actors — Elżbieta Jarosik is straight to eat, as always, Kamil Kula plays sweetly with her hero, and Andzelika Piechowiak and Anna Jarosik in the role of sisters who do not have too much love, they know perfectly well where the limit of redrawing lies and move sensitively in her immediate vicinity, but never cross by.
