While the whole of Poland celebrates the regaining of Independence on November 11, we in Podgórze are enjoying Freedom much earlier, because already on October 31st. Why? Because it was then, thanks to the valiant action of Captain Antoni Stawarz, that Podgórze became one of the first, if not the first, liberated section of the future Rzeczpospolita. In the morning the barracks were liberated, including the building of our museum. At 12.00, Polish colors hung on the town hall tower of the Main Market Square in Krakow. The day before, throughout the night, at the request of Captain Podgórzanka, they sewed white and red bows for the soldiers. We feel like the heirs of this Great Cause, which is why every year we invite everyone to a joint craft venture - we will sew bows, which we will distribute to the residents of Podgórze and Krakow on October 30, and send to Warsaw for the celebrations on November 11. We will sit down at a common table, at which we will sew and tell about these events.
About the event
A special guest will also be the choir “One Voice”, with which we will sing and reflect together on the meaning and tradition of popular Polish songs.
We encourage you to bring treats, preferably in white and red colors - let's ignite your creativity and your culinary imagination.
