About the event

The world of The Witcher has fascinated readers and gamers for years. What makes this story still alive and open to new interpretations?

We invite you to a meeting dedicated to the phenomenon of The Witcher and the different ways of reading the work of Andrzej Sapkowski. It will be a conversation about stories, heroes, monsters and questions that fantasy also poses outside the boundaries of the fictional world.

Our guests will be Beata Jewiarz, actress and Polish voice of Yennefer in the game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”, and Maciej Wodziński, philosopher from UMCS. The conversation will be moderated by Przemysław Głuchowski.

We will listen to excerpts from books interpreted by Beata Jewiarz and we will talk together about what the Witcher tells us about ourselves. We invite both fans of books and games, as well as those who would like to know the world of Geralt from Rivia.

Beata Jewiarz — actress, journalist, producer of poetic performances, promoter of Bolesław Leśnian's work, author of artistic projects. A graduate of PWST in Wrocław. She is the creator of performances such as “Human Nature”, “Dream”, “Leśnian/Relaxation” with poems by Bolesław Leśnian and performative activities with poetry. Awarded the Medal of Merit for Culture by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2025. In the game “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” (CD Projekt RED), she voiced Yennefer from Vengerberg, the main female role. Co-creator of the artistic collective “Uchooko”. Author of the series of peaceful happenings “City-emotions”. He dubs animated, documentary and feature productions. Co-author of the book “Be Haiku” ed. Maciej Wodziński — neuroatypical philosopher from the LUBLIN UMCS, retired masseur, avid badminton player, self-proclaimed witchologist and carpenter. Scientifically interested in the philosophy of psychiatry and more broadly understood mental well-being. In his research work, he mainly asks how we can better understand the world seen through the eyes of another person. Personally in love with Greece. Still, though still clumsily, she tries to dialogue with the thoughts of her great dead, seeking in these conversations a “way back” to their long-forgotten way of experiencing reality.
