This is not a Witkacy show.
This is a show about women who speak with their own voices today.
Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz escapes from war-torn Warsaw — but he will not escape from them. In front of the women he loved, abandoned, idealized and destroyed. Before those who were muses, lovers, companions, victims and witnesses.
Irene. Jadwiga. Nina. Lilka. Czechia. Maria. They return to reclaim their voice and reckon with the myth of a brilliant artist.
“Witkation. Wodewil on the Edge” is a sensual, musical spectacle about love, power, betrayal and the desire for freedom.
Full of vaudeville brilliance, irony and gloom — like interwar Warsaw, which danced, laughed and sang, not knowing that everything would be over in a moment.
It's a story about relationships where genius is the excuse and women pay the ultimate price. A fascination that hurts. About the power that is born after years of silence.
Musical vaudeville balancing on the border of fun and anxiety. A show for viewers who want more than a “pretty story”. Those who, after leaving the theater, will talk for a long time.
Strobe effects and fast flashing lights are used in the performance.
