In the heart of the city, an extraordinary space is being created where art, architecture and human imagination meet. The tower of the Town Hall is already decorated with the monumental graphic “Odyssey of Space Cathedrals”. Wojciech Siudmak designed it especially for Zduńska Wola. The work, consisting of 130 large-format tiles, takes viewers on a journey through the infinity of the Cosmos.
New sculpture in front of the Town Hall
At the foot of the tower will now stand the sculpture “Tender Dialogue”. Its official unveiling is scheduled at Freedom Square in Zduńska Wola on Saturday, October 24, at 6 p.m. Wojciech Siudmak himself announced his participation in the event.
The painting on the facade of the Town Hall and the sculpture set against its background will create an artistic whole. “The Odyssey of Cosmic Cathedrals” directs the gaze to infinity, and “Tender Dialogue” reminds of what is close: of the meeting, the relationship and the other person.
“We are a city brave enough to invite great art, and open enough to allow it to enter the daily life of the inhabitants,” says Konrad Pokora, President of Zduńska Wola.
Concert with animations
The ceremony of unveiling the sculpture will be accompanied by a concert “Porta ad astra. Wojciech Siudmak — a great journey in the world of imagination”, which will begin on 24 October at 18.45 in the auditorium of the Municipal House of Culture Town Hall. It will also be broadcast live on the TV screen in front of the Town Hall and on ZW Media TV.
Classical works by Fryderyk Chopin will sound with jazz and musical improvisation. Artists of different generations will meet on the stage, who are united not only by music, but also by Zduńska Wola. Karol Radziwonowicz is an outstanding pianist and pedagogue, Szymon Drabiński and Kuba Drabiński — pianists of the younger generation and Andrzej Olejniczak — an excellent saxophonist. The unusual visual setting of the concert will be created by animations of works by Wojciech Siudmak.
Zduńska Art Gallery to open its doors
Zduńska Wola will also inaugurate the activities of the Zdun Art Gallery. The first exhibition was entitled “Tender Dialogue — An Odyssey of Space Cathedrals”. The audience will see the works of Wojciech Siudmak. The exhibition will be open from October 25 to December 31, 2026.
The opening of the gallery is another element of the idea of the development of the city through culture. Zduńska Wola wants to create spaces where residents can interact with art and artists present their work.
“A city is more than a layout of streets, houses and parks. It is also a collection of stories that make up his unique identity. We want to add another to them: about a city that is not afraid of great ambitions, develops culture and invites outstanding artists to it - notes the vice president of Zduńska Wola, Paweł Szewczyk.
Who is Wojciech Siudmak?
Wojciech Siudmak is one of the most recognizable Polish creators of fantastic art. His works combine realism with extraordinary visions in which man, architecture and space create new worlds. The artist was born in Wielun. She has lived and created in Paris for several decades.
While preparing the “Odyssey of Space Cathedrals” and “Tender Dialogue”, he said that space is becoming a privileged partner of Zduńska Wola. It is a symbolic invitation to look further and further, to cross borders and to think boldly about the future.
