WOJTEK MAZOLEWSKI SOLO

Wojtek Mazolewski in a unique, extremely intimate version! The leader of Pink Freud and Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet returns with an intimate, moody and almost cinematic story without words. “Solo” is a hypnotic story and a moving love story of the artist and his instrument. Live on Hypnosis on Thursday, November 19! The double bass is an instrument that is often underestimated in jazz. Since the big band of Duke Ellington, he has been assigned the place of the rhythmic foundation for the crazy shows of the masters of trumpet, percussion, piano. It would seem that the solo album will be for Mazolewski an opportunity for virtuoso bragging. However, the leader of Pink Freud chose a different expression. He shows the double bass as a melodic instrument, with extraordinary attentiveness or even tenderness, revealing the richness and depth of its sound. Mazolewski's musical story captivates and fascinates, revealing unhurriedly sonorous and compositional details. The musician opens up a space of concentration and reflection before us, without slipping into a new-age cliché. “Solo” is a proposal that encourages the listener to make a little effort, offering in return a new kind of experience. As in Zen meditation, silence, gentle pulse and sonic vibrations lead to an understanding of the complexity of nature and our place in it, paradoxically leading to an intense aesthetic, poetic in essence, experience.
