Combining the fleeting and melancholy of Sofia Coppola's Curses of Innocence with the monumental and novel character of Jonathan Glazer's Zone of Interest, a moving portrait of several generations of girls and women in the German countryside. A film story that, according to Polish reviewers, could be a screen adaptation of the bestselling book “Chłopki” by Joanna Kuciel-Frydryszak. On one farm in northern Germany, at different times of the 20th and 21st centuries, four girls grow up: Alma, Eric, Angelika and Lenka. Although they are separated by time, they each experience similar emotions — first love, rebellion and family tensions. Their stories intertwine, revealing secrets that have remained hidden for years.

The director and co-author of the script is Mascha Schilinski, known for her author's style and deeply emotional portraits of women. The film received nominations for the Gotham Awards in two categories: Best Original Screenplay and Best International Film, and is also an official German Oscar nominee.
