Half to the stage, or the new format in KOK There are questions that are not asked to the artist after the concert. Because it's too loud, too crowded, or just not enough time. There are stories that don't fit in press interviews. And there are moments when you would like to see a musician not on the stage - but next to it. Closer.
That's why Half Into the Scene was created.
Two hawkers, one conversation, live music The formula is simple. On two hockey sticks sit the artist and the presenter. And the conversation begins - about life, about music, about the first experiences and the beginnings of a career. About important moments and people he meets on the road. About where the artist is today, what he does outside the stage and how he sees his future.
The conversation will be interspersed with live music. Depending on the guest, there will be an instrument, singing, a fragment of a song, and maybe even improvisation. The artist will not only talk about his music - he will simply play it.
And at some point we will change the rules and get into ping-pong - quick questions, quick answers. First thought, first reaction. Without preparation and without thinking for a long time. That's when it gets the most interesting.
Without stage distance The whole will have a casual, natural character. The conversation flows at its own pace, the questions intertwine, the music comes when it wants to- and the spontaneous reactions create an atmosphere that cannot be planned. And this is where the greatest value of this format lies. Allow the artist to be himself. No microphone on the tripod, no lights aimed at the face, no stage distance.
Half-stage is a meeting with the artist outside the concert itself, we stop him for a while, between the next musical challenges, just to talk.
The conversation will be moderated by Wiktor Pieprzyk.
First guest - Joanna Dudkowska
Joanna Dudkowska, a composer, bassist and session musician, a graduate of the Academy of Music, will be the first to sit on the two hokers. He performs in Poland and Europe - from Sopot and Opole, through the Rawa Blues Festival, to the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and festivals in France, Germany and Lithuania. For three years in a row she was in the top three of the best Polish blues musicians according to the magazine “Twój Blues”. Her work has been noticed by the world's bassists' websites: BassTheWorld, Bass Players United and the German Bass Quarterly. The music video “Prelude” exceeded one million views. She has collaborated with, among others, Justyna Steczkowska, Urszula, Robert Chojnacki, Felek Andrzejczak and many other outstanding creators of entertainment music. She played with American guitarist Niki Buzz, with whom she created the album recognized as the best blues album of 2013 in Poland. She took part in the recording of B.B. King Tribute with leading Polish guitarists. She plays in the musical SIX at the Warsaw Syrena Theater. In 2023, she signed a contract with Warner Music Poland, and a year later she released her first album “Mirrors”.
Someone who has been on stage with so many artists certainly has something to tell. And we really want to hear it.
We cordially invite you. No rush, no distance, with space for music.
