Almost 12, 000 km traveled on foot, more than a year and a half, 9 countries, 19 pairs of shoes and one love. After hitchhiking across South America, Arek Winiatorski found that he was still moving too fast. To get to know the world even better, he decided to cross it from Panama on foot. He crossed Central America conquering the highest peak of any country visited along the way. In the south of Mexico, he met the love of his life — Ola Nephew, with whom he reached Canada on foot.
They described their journey in a book entitled “On the Edge of the Americas” (Wydawnictwo Czarne, 2022), awarded the Magellan Prize for the best travel book of the year.
