Tuesday meetings with the monument (not only for Seniors) are a series of meetings during which we take the burden of museum rules off the monuments and shorten the distance that usually tells us to look at the past from a safe distance.
Extracted from museum warehouses, removed from high shelves and taken out of the packaging that protects them every day, this time the monuments will not only be in front of the eyes, but directly into the hands of visitors.
Carefully selected by our museum specialists, they will become the starting point for the lecture and, above all, for asking questions — such as can arise only when, feeling in our hands the weight of the object, its shape and texture, we can take a close look at the unobvious traces of past centuries. Traces that are revealed only when the museum showcase no longer stands between us and the monument.
Schedule of meetings:
25.08. — Dominik Płeszek — Genetic roots of Poland. Slavs, Piasts and archaeology
29.09. — Albert Zastawny — Grave gifts from Neolithic burials from the Great Books near Krakow
27.10. — Małgorzata Wawer — Funeral rites and customs of the Dacians
24.11. — Justyna Rodak — Ancient safety pin
15.12. — Bogumił Pilarski — Why is there so much scrap for?
