Open lecture A Journey through Quantum Wonderland by Prof. Paul C.W. Davies

On October 14, 2026, the University of Szczecin will receive as honorary doctorates the outstanding quantum physicist, cosmologist and popularizer of science Prof. Paul C.W. Davies from Arizona State University (USA). The day after the award of this honorary title, Professor Paul C.W. Davies will give a lecture entitled “A Journey through Quantum Wonderland”. We encourage you to participate. The lecture will be a fascinating journey through one of the most extraordinary areas of modern science. Professor Davies will talk about quantum mechanics — a theory that has changed our understanding of reality for a hundred years and forms the basis of many modern technologies — from lasers to artificial intelligence. Although it has permeated all areas of human inquiry, it is still a challenge for the next generation of scientists and philosophers. The speaker will also present the perspectives of the second quantum revolution — Quantum 2.0 — including quantum computing, teleportation and the development of quantum artificial intelligence. In his speech he will also address issues related to the birth of the Universe, the mysteries of consciousness and the still unsolved problems of quantum physics. After the lecture, it will be possible to purchase Professor's books published in Polish by Copernicus Center Press, including the last one entitled “Quantum Revolution 2.0" and obtain a signature with a dedication. The number of places is limited - the order of applications decides. Registration at the link: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/u8PqnVyefH
