BWA Olsztyn cordially invites you to a lecture by Marek Michalski, which will take place on 21 October (Wednesday) at 17:30 at the temporary headquarters of the BWA in Hala Urania — al. Marsz. J. Piłsudskiego 44 (entrance B1 | conference room).
Forest therapy is a dynamically developing field that has its roots in Japan. Recent scientific studies from around the world show how important contact with nature is for our well-being. Observing the light through the leaves, the ripples in the water or the clouds can affect the activity of our brain. Meditative contact with nature can be like contemplating a work of art. One can see surprising similarities in how we respond to the image of the forest and to direct contact with nature, as well as to the reproduction of the work of art and its original.
Marek Michalski — journalist, trainer, lecturer, instructor of breathing techniques and forest bathing guide (Shinrin-yoku). A popularizer of knowledge about health-promoting aspects of contact with nature. For more than a dozen years on the air of the Polish Radio Olsztyn he has been conducting an author's series of nature broadcasts entitled “Spotted, listened to”. He is the author of numerous reports, audio plays, documentary series and author's broadcasts: “Terapia Lasem” and “Studio S”. One of the founding members of the Polish Society of Forest Bathing and Forest Therapy. He shares his knowledge, passion and experience during workshops, conferences and trainings.
Privately a lover of the so-called downhill and sea kayaking.
