Do you know the game of Berka? And hide and seek? Or in “one, two, three, Baba Yaga looks”?
Someone from nowhere shouts in the street “Baba Yaga is watching!” You run like crazy and stop only when you run out of breath. You have bruises on your back and you cover your mouth with your hand so that your heart does not jump out.
Everyone hid, only Anusia did not have time to escape. Baba Yaga catches her in a bag and flies with her like the wind, far, far away. And there is a hole in this bag, and Anusia sees a whole new world through it. He sees a house, a garden and a mysterious forest. The house where Mr. Tralalinski lives with his family, Mr. Hilary, the goat that jumped, Zosia Samosa and other characters from Julian Tuwim's poems. He also meets an actress, a wolf and a stuffed hunter, plus a crab, a monkey with a suitcase and a little wizard. A rusty bathtub, an old couch or a rose on a bush will talk to her. Anusia will remind children and adults of the most famous poems by Julian Tuwim, but will also introduce the Polish audience to two poets less known to her: the Czech Ivan Wernisch and the Slovak Jan Sedal. From their lyrics, he conjures up the world of poetry before the eyes of the audience, which will come to life thanks to the unbridled imagination of children. It will be a journey full of fun, humor, colors and adventures that each of us can experience at the end of our street, around the corner of the house or behind the fence of a mysterious garden.
The Czech-Slovak creative duo Lukáš Trpijovský and Martin Kukučka (SKUTR) are among the most important creators of the Czech theatre scene. SKUTR specializes in poetic productions for adults, working in operas and drama theaters in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany. Lukáš Trpijovský and Martin Kukučka are currently the artistic directors of the National Theatre in Prague. The team with whom they constantly collaborate include Simona Rybáková, awarded the Czech Lion for the best film costumes, and Martin Chocholoušek, whose spectacular scenographies can be seen on the stages of Czech and European opera and drama theaters. In WTL SKUTR realized a performance based on Andersen's fairy tale “HOW BIG THIS WORLD IS!” , which premiered online during the pandemic.
