In the IASE space at 1 Wystawowa Street (next to the Centennial Hall) you can currently see the latest exhibition BODY WORLDS: THE CYCLE OF LIFE. In response to the huge interest of the public, the exhibition was extended until June 30, 2026.
Nearly 160 authentic exhibits, including bodies and organs donated to the Institute of Plastination in Heidelberg by voluntary donors, allow us to trace the extraordinary journey of man — from the first moments of existence, through puberty, to the changes that accompany the aging of the body. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to see firsthand how our body is formed, developed and constantly undergoing transformation.
BODY WORLDS is the first public exhibition dedicated to human anatomy, which has already been viewed by more than 57 million people. This number makes it the most visited anatomical exhibition in the world and one of the most influential scientific presentations of recent decades. It fascinates both laypeople and people who are connected with medicine on a daily basis, constantly arousing emotions and provoking reflection on what usually remains invisible - about ourselves.
The last edition of the Body Worlds — VITAL exhibition presented in Wrocław inspired to take care of health and physical condition. The current edition takes up a theme close to all of us: the cycle of human life. From the first cells, through fetal development, puberty, adulthood, to the autumn of life, the exhibition presents the processes to which we are all subject, regardless of age or lifestyle. The curator of the exhibition, Dr. Angelina Whalley, points out that BODY WORLDS changes the way we look at ourselves: “Visitors, looking at another human body, look at their own at the same time. What we eat, how we move, how we live — everything leaves a mark. The body is not only the basis of our physical existence, but also the mirror of our choices.
It is this perspective that makes BODY WORLDS have a huge educational dimension. The knowledge conveyed at the exhibition is concrete, tangible and understandable — it is “first-hand”. Many specialists unanimously emphasize its importance. Colleen Schultz, Head of Education at Children's Health Education, notes: “The exhibition is the perfect solution for all those curious about the human body — regardless of age. Pupils, students and adults find here both a solid portion of knowledge and a space for reflection on health.”
