About the event

Water — constantly present, changeable, full of movement and light. It is to her nature that artists from the Sztalugi Art Group devote their latest works.

We invite you to the exhibition “Nature of Water”, the main theme of which is an attempt to capture the essence of water using the language of painting. Artists look at its matter, its physical properties and its constant transformations, and at the same time undertake their own individual interpretations of water as a natural phenomenon present in nature.

16 October 2026 (Friday), 17:00
First floor SOK, 71 Noniewicza Street, Suwałki
Free admission

The exhibition “Nature of Water” is a meeting of different sensibilities and views on this seemingly well-known and still fascinating element of nature.

Sztalugi Art Group was founded in 2005 in the Regional Centre for Culture and Art in Suwałki. Since the beginning of their activity, the participants of the Center's Art Studio regularly present their works at collective exhibitions — both thematic and poplar exhibitions under the slogan “At the source”. Initially, the exhibitions were held in Rokis, and then in the Suwałki Cultural Center.

The team consists of several dozen adults with a diverse level of artistic experience. Under the guidance of an instructor, they develop their workshop skills, and the time together in the studio passes in a warm, almost family atmosphere. It is a space of mutual support, exchange of reflections — not only about art, but also about everyday life and its challenges.

The founder and long-term caregiver of the Group was ROKIS instructor Halina Mackiewicz. For several years now, Andrzej Zujewicz, the instructor of the Suwałki Cultural Center, continues to lead the team. The Group's achievements include the organization of several dozen collective exhibitions — on average at least two per year — as well as participation in numerous outdoor painting exhibitions, poplar exhibitions and art workshops in the Suwalki region, also abroad, including in Lithuania.

The activity in the Group is a form of active therapy through art, especially valuable for the elderly. Participants discover new talents, strengthen self-esteem and find satisfaction in creative work. Equally important is the opportunity to spend time together and build relationships based on kindness and support.
