“Polish Flowers” Exhibition curator: Danuta Przybysz Musical setting of the opening: chamber ensemble SonataHalina Sobczyk's journey with art began very early, as she herself emphasizes, painting accompanies her “forever”. It is the natural language of expressing thoughts, emotions and attentive observation of the world.
She also formally developed her artistic path by completing her Postgraduate Studies at the Faculty of Art in Zielona Góra. For more than 20 years she has been associated with the University of the Third Age, where she constantly improves her workshop using the corrections and support of Prof. Eugeniusz Jaszkul.
Halina Sobczyk's work is characterized by both thematic and technical diversity. The artist freely reaches for pencil, pastel, acrylic, oil to create landscapes, still lifes, portraits. Recently, she has been fascinated by flowers and creates images full of subtlety in different versions. Her works are kept in the style of “moderate realism”, faithful to reality and at the same time imbued with personal sensitivity.
For Halina Sobczyk, painting is not only a form of artistic expression, but a way of life and a tender dialogue with the world.
The theme of the exhibition “Polish Flowers” — a memory of the favorite poet Julian Tuwim: “Village bouquets, as you know, were tied high and steep. In colors similar to the altar, they had the shape of a heart or a fan.”
