Dr. James Xavier is dedicated to researching the formula for seeing through matter. When he loses his funding, he tests it on himself and discovers that he can see not only what is hidden behind the walls, but also the inside of the human body. Over time, an unusual ability gets out of hand, and a scientific breakthrough drives him crazy. Roger Corman combines science fiction with horror, using ingenious optical effects to show an increasingly terrifying world seen through the eyes of the protagonist. Shot in three weeks for less than $300,000, the film won a prize at the Trieste festival. Today, he is considered one of Corman's most iconic images, and his final vision remains a poignant tale of the limits of human cognition.
