Workshop on creating recycled journals — junk journals — for youth and adults. Junk journal is a unique diary created from recycled materials — old newspapers, tickets, receipts, scraps of materials or colored paper. It allows for artistic upcycling and the creation of personalized works of art. During the two-hour workshop, participants will learn how to creatively use the recovered materials they can collect each day, and will put together their own pocket diary. They will be able to create in it, among others, a map of thoughts, a page of memories or a personal collage on a favorite topic.

What can participants bring to the workshop? For example: postcards, stickers, a paper box of your favorite cookies, printed photos, receipts, leaflets, old magazines, ribbons - everything that can be glued to a piece of paper.

Ala Nowicka — tattoo artist, creator of jewelry made from recycled materials and a lover of rubbish. It promotes a sustainable approach to fashion and shopping with its SlowUp brand. He leads creative meetings, during which he encourages the use of what we have at hand for joyful, creative games.

Scene 18:00 — author's meeting with Nidal Hamad — hosted by Anna Matusewicz Nidal Hamad was born in a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon. In 1982, during the events associated with the massacre in the Sabra and Shatila camps, he was seriously injured and lost his leg. Later, he experienced life in exile for years, living among others in Poland and Norway. Today he is the author of numerous publications — reports, memoirs, essays, poetry and journalistic texts.

During the meeting it will be possible to get acquainted with the work of the author and purchase copies of books.

19:30 — author's meeting with Marta Nowicka-Gawior about her debut book entitled: “Upał” (Wydawnictwo Red, 2026).

It is a dark socio-psychological novel inspired by authentic events, revealing the brutal reality hidden behind the facade of Middle Eastern wealth. “Heat” is not a figment of fantasy — it is based on authentic events that took place during the author's stays in the Middle East, where she worked as a dancer in a luxury hotel — just like Olivia, the protagonist of her book.

The Polish woman finds herself in a world full of dependencies, silences and unwritten rules. When Aya, a young Japanese woman and the wife of an influential doctor, disappears, tension builds and the seemingly stable order breaks. The narrative, conducted from many perspectives, builds a sultry atmosphere of danger and uncertainty.

The conversation will be moderated by Dorota Lińska-Złoch.
