Today, music is often a flash product, changing with fast trends. Radio playlists and streaming algorithms feed us repetitive bits. Song lyrics are increasingly reduced to simple, easily digestible slogans. However, there are enclaves where music does not serve to escape from thinking, but becomes an excuse for the deepest conversations about the world. The 13th edition of the festival “Pioneers of the Indomitable” is a unique celebration of author's song, literature and sung poetry.

About the event

Today, music is often a flash product, changing with fast trends. Radio playlists and streaming algorithms feed us repetitive bits. Song lyrics are increasingly reduced to simple, easily digestible slogans. However, there are enclaves where music does not serve to escape from thinking, but becomes an excuse for the deepest conversations about the world. The 13th edition of the festival “Pioneers of the Indomitable” is a unique celebration of author's song, literature and sung poetry.

Inaugurated in 2013, the festival arose from a simple but extremely strong need to restore meaning to the lyrical layer in songs. From the very beginning, the organizers focused on unusual creativity, often hidden in the shadow of big, commercial events. “The Indomitable Singers” combines the beauty of literature with the depth of music, creating a safe haven for artists who are not afraid to go against the tide.

The festival is distinguished by the experimental confrontation of generations. On one stage, icons of Polish independent song and young bards meet. For the latter, the festival is not only an opportunity to present author's material, but also a signal that the creation of ambitious art still has a deep meaning. There will be:

The 13th edition of the festival is another chapter in a beautiful history. Over the years, the festival stage has hosted legends that shaped the sensitivity of generations: Renata Przemyk, Kuba Sienkiewicz, Mirek Czyżykiewicz, Tadeusz Woźniak, Jacek Kleyff and Martyna Jakubowicz.

Returning to its roots, the festival reminds us of the great creators and proves that their heritage is alive and important. When chords and strong, thoughtful verses sound on the stage, you can feel the spirit of old, underground student clubs and legendary artistic freedom in the air.

The Festival “Unsubmissive Singers” is the perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, sit among people who think and feel alike, and just let the stories get carried away. Firlej will be a meeting place for a non-accidental audience. No one talks during the songs. You listen to your whole self here. See for yourself how much power the free, unsubmissive word still has.
