The band LAY D FUNK was formed at the beginning of 2013 in Radom, as an instrumental quartet playing fusion music in a broad sense. Musicians look for inspiration in all genres of music: jazz, funky, soul, blues or classical music.
LDF has his debut album “Miejski zk”, the album “Made in Satisfaction” and the albums “Szymborska Jazz Poems” and “Satisfaction Live” released in 2025.
The band has performed many times during national music festivals, including Jazz Festival New Cooperation in Zamość, X Jazz Hanza in Koszalin, Azoty Jazz Festival in Tarnów, Radom Jazz Festival, Zakopane Spring Jazz Festival — United Europe Jazz Festival, performed in clubs all over Poland, as well as in Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine - in Lutsk and Rivne as part of the ART JAZZ Cooperation Festival 2019.
The musicians have collaborated with many formations and personalities of the music scene, such as: Algis Kilis, Dario Zema, Piotr Schmidt, Władysław Komendarek, Darek Kozakiewicz, Andrzej Urny, Anthymos Apostolis, Jan Akerman, Anthony Gomes, and Kevin Harris.
The band usually performs as a quintet, but often invites guests to participate in concerts, thanks to which LDF music constantly acquires new colors, ideas and meanings.
In 2019, Nathan Williams joined the band — an American artist, teacher, multi-instrumentalist. Originally from Denver — Colorado, living in Wichita — Kansas, now in Warsaw. He began learning to play the trumpet and piano at the age of 9. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards: The University of North Texas Jazz Festival, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, The National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts (NFAA) and The White House.
Nathan performs on stages all over the world, playing at jazz festivals including Monterey, Umbria, Montreux and JVC Jazz festivals, Jazz Bez in Ukraine, as well as in clubs in Boston, New York, Dallas, Cleveland, Denver and Wichita.
