The Artistic Festival of the Senior Movement “Piernikalia” is a cyclical event promoting the artistic achievements of seniors realized at the Karolew Center of the Municipal Culture Zone in Lodz.

The Festival's formula is based on a competition in two categories: soloist and ensemble. The form of presentation is arbitrary, for example: choir, theater, cabaret, song, recitation. The absence of entry fees for performers, as well as free admission for the public to all festival events, makes the event fully accessible to those interested. The winners receive the honorary titles of “Merry Gingerbread Man” and gingerbread hearts. All participants receive commemorative diplomas and gifts.

The mission of “Gingerbread” is to create a friendly place where seniors have the opportunity to present their stage skills: musical, vocal, instrumental, dance acting in front of a wide audience. The festival reveals the hitherto undiscovered possibilities of the people of the “golden age”. The project has already been permanently inscribed on the map of cultural events in Łódź and the Łódź macro-region.

25.10.26/Sunday/ approx. 17:20 — CONCERT — “AUTUMN IS GOOD FOR EVERYTHING” performed by the artists of Łódź Song Theatre Autumn captivates many of us with its color, richness and romantic aura. So it is not surprising that it has always been an inspiration for poets and composers, thanks to which many songs have been created that reflect the mood and beauty of this season immersed in fiery colors. Evening “Autumn is good for everything!” aims to conjure up the magical atmosphere of autumn with music. Songs made during the concert — such as “Autumn Concert for Two Crickets”, “Autumn Dream”, “You Remember It Was Autumn”, “And Me Is a Pity for Summer” and many others — invite you to plunge into the nostalgic atmosphere of autumn, feel its warmth, depth, its sensual, seductive essence and charm. During the concert you will hear songs from the repertoire of Magda Umer, Sława Przybylska, Hanna Banaszak or Elżbieta Adamiak — songs whose atmosphere is full of sweetness, autumn colour. It is a musical meeting that will prompt deeper, but basically positive thoughts and will be an attempt to show autumn from the best side, because who knows (although it is a pity of summer...) if autumn is not the most beautiful time of the year?
