Concrete is the building block of the 20th century. Symbolically — because it influenced the theory of architecture, the reflection on its duty and significance, and practically, changing the scale, shape, forms of buildings. Although developed in its modern form in the 19th century, it came into widespread use after World War II, becoming the most important building material practically all over the world and changing architecture in ways previously unknown.
