YAMATO — The Drummers of Japan

Japanese band YAMATO — The Drummers of Japan will visit our country again. In November 2026, the band will present a new show titled “Hito no Chikara — The Power of Human Strength” as part of a world tour. The artists will perform in 8 Polish cities: Gdynia, Częstochowa, Katowice, Warsaw, Łódź, Krakow, Bielsko-Biała and Wrocław.

YAMATO is one of the most recognizable taiko bands in the world — since 1993 they have played more than 4,500 concerts in 55 countries and their performances have been seen by millions of spectators. The group is famous for its unique energy, perfect synchronization and shows that remain in the memory for a long time.

YAMATO concerts can hardly be closed in one definition. It is not only a show of percussion precision, but a magnificent musical and theatrical spectacle in which the tradition of Japan meets modern stage form, choreography and enormous power of communication. YAMATO define their art as “physical music” — music created with the whole body, with maximum effort and concentration.

More than 40 taiko drums appear on the stage, each with a different sound and character. The central point of the show is the legendary Odaiko — a monumental drum made of more than 400 years old tree, about 2 meters in diameter and weighing as much as 500 kg. Its sound makes a physical impression — it is a rhythm that is literally felt throughout the body.
