Yard Act dazzles for their blazing indie rock in VEGA
“We're making the greatest third album any band has ever recorded.” So in cash was the message from Yard Act at the end of 2025, and something suggests that the marvellous English indie band thinks so.
Because after selling out Floppen in 2024, they are now announcing their biggest Danish concert so far when they take on Store VEGA on October 10th.
The unruly Leeds group broke through in 2022 with their debut album, The Overload, which reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart.
Media outlets such as Clash, Uncut and The Guardian fell into swoon over their unpolished and entertaining mix of Britrock, postpunk, disco-grooves and wry, humorous and socially critical lyrics. The Yard Act was compared to iconic British guitar heroes such as Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines, and the debut album was nominated for the coveted Mercury Prize.
In 2024, the sequel Where's My Utopia was released, co-produced with Gorillaz's Remi Kabaka Jr. and demonstrated an even more multifaceted expression. The album went top 4 in its home country and there were also plenty of reviewer praises from The Line of Best Fit, NME and Paste Magazine, among others. The Telegraph's reviewer found attributed:
“I found myself breathing a sigh of relief halfway through that bands like this still exist in Britain.”
Yard Act's most recent Danish visit was as a warm-up for The Hives in K.B. Hallen last year, but on October 10 they will return strongly when they take Store VEGA as the main name of the evening.
