Yunchan Lim piano

Yunchan Lim’s Mozart Cycle at Wigmore Hall stands squarely among the hottest-tickets dates in town. The Guardian hit the mark when it named the South Korean pianist, now in his early twenties, as ‘a once-in-a-generation talent’, a verdict underlined by a growing harvest of five-star reviews and the mounting evidence of audience ovations. He opens his latest Mozart programme with three youthful works, created in 1775 during their composer’s stay in Munich, and includes two masterworks in C minor, the key he most often employed to express tragedy and dark, introspective emotions.
