The gifted young Chinese pianist Yuxin Pu is a multiple prizewinner both in the UK and in China, showcasing her technical command at the Dalian International Centre, Salle Cortot Concert Hall in Paris and at Steinway Hall. Her poetic programme opens with Berio’s beautifully crafted miniatures from Six Encores, capturing the essence of water and air. Zoltán Kocsis’s magnificent re-imagining of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde Prelude provides the bridge to one of the pinnacles of piano repertoire, Chopin’s 24 Preludes; containing some of his most famous music, this extraordinary journey explores all the keys, creating a work of unprecedented psychological depth and drama.
