Blues Chokers

November in Słowianin has been part of the Blues Souls for years. This concert is dedicated to the memory of artists who left an important mark in the history of music. The event has been organized continuously since 2011 and has been permanently included in the calendar of musical meetings of the House of Slavic Culture.

This year's edition will feature bands: After Blues, Szulerzy and W Korcu Maku.

AFTER BLUES is a legend of the Szczecin blues scene. Founded in 1980, the band has been delighting audiences for more than four decades with its unique sound — frugal, moody blues with a ballad character. The core of the band is formed by Leszek Piłat and Waldemar Baranowski — musicians who have developed their own style, combining instrumental virtuosity with extraordinary musical sensitivity. He has recorded more than a dozen original albums, hundreds of concerts in Poland and abroad, as well as collaborations with the greatest figures of Polish blues, including Tadeusz Nalepa and Mira Kubasińska. In 2020, the band received the Artistic Award of the City of Szczecin for their entire artistic activity.

SCHULERS — for more than two decades they have proven that blues can take you to dance. Their signature style — blues'n'roll — is an energetic combination of rhythm and blues, rock and roll, swing and soul, embellished with Polish lyrics and a characteristic stage image. Founded in 2001, the band from Inowrocław has developed a sound that is difficult to confuse with any other band on the Polish blues scene. It is music full of positive energy, catchy melodies and rhythms that are difficult to sit still. The Schulers have numerous concerts in Poland and abroad and a rich discography, and their performances are a guarantee of an exuberant encounter with the blues in a dance version.

In KORC MAKU — Szczecin artists who combine poetry with music full of warmth and subtle emotions. The velvety voice of Monika Frankowicz and the atmospheric guitar arrangements of Waldemar Baranowski create an intimate atmosphere that invites you to stop for a moment and listen to the sounds. Their work is a meeting of words and music — full of sensitivity, peace and closeness to the audience.

Traditionally, we encourage you to bring food for free-living cats. The collected donations will be donated to associations that care for animals.

Zaduszki Blues is first and foremost a meeting of people connected by a love of music. As the slogan of the event says: “Blues are roots. The rest of the music is fruit.”
