The Lost Highway

Saxophonist Fred (Bill Pullman in one of his best roles) and his wife Renée (Patricia Arquette) begin to receive mysterious news and VHS tapes. One of them turns out to contain a recording of the musician standing over the dismembered body of his partner; shortly after its reproduction, the protagonist is arrested and sentenced to death for murder. A few days later, however, it turns out that Pete (Balthazar Getty), a distraught young mechanic, is in his cell instead. This is only the beginning of strange events, wrapped up in the film web of Möbius.
