The lovers... are among us. Helena Majdaniec

Helena Majdaniec — voice, temperament and hits that are remembered by subsequent generations. Who was she off the stage? What gave her strength, what did she miss and what did she look for in love?

A monodram by Rafał Podraza, a biographer of the artist, brings her life closer from the side of personal experiences. In addition to successes in Poland and abroad, there are difficult choices, disappointments, loneliness and longing for the homeland. From these memories emerges a portrait of a woman full of energy and sensitivity, whose life did not always turn out as serenely as her songs.

The role of Helena Majdaniec is played by Krystyna Maksymowicz, an actress of the Contemporary Theatre in Szczecin. The production, directed by Arkadiusz Buszka, combines a stage story with recordings of the artist's songs and archival photographs. The music evokes the atmosphere of those years and accompanies the story of love, dreams and the search for one's own place.

The producer of the monodrama is the Szczecin Artistic Agency, partner — the Pomeranian Dukes Castle in Szczecin. The show is being created in preparation for Helena Majdaniec's Year of West Pomerania 2027.
