“Delusions” — exhibition by Kasia Szcześniewski at the ZAMEK Art Gallery

Silence, nature, texture and the subtle play of light with shadow - on November 6 at the ZAMEK Art Gallery in Szczecinek you will be able to immerse yourself in the extraordinary world of “Reflections” by Kasia Szcześniewski, a Polish artist who has been working in the United States for more than three decades.

The opening ceremony with the participation of the author will begin at 18:00. It is an opportunity to get to know creativity that invites you to stop, to look closely and to discover the beauty in the unobvious.

Thoughts are an intimate story about nature, transience and the rhythm of life, written in the structure of the material and the savings of the means of expression. In her works, Kasia Szcześniewski builds organic compositions in which texture becomes as important as form, and light brings out subtle nuances and depth from the surface.

Over the years, the artist has developed her creative language — from classical drawing, through stage painting, to her own technique combining acrylic with paper. It is paper that plays a special role in the presented works. Crushed, applied in layers, full of irregularities and protrusions, it creates spatial structures reminiscent of forms found in nature. Its surface reminds us that beauty is also hidden in imperfection, traces of time and constant transformation.

An important element of the exhibition is the conscious restriction of the color scheme to shades of white, gray and black. This monochrome palette allows you to focus attention on texture, light and shadow, while creating an atmosphere of silence.

Kasia Szcześniewski has lived and created in the United States since 1989. For decades she has actively co-created the artistic life of Polonia, among others acting on the board of the Polish Arts Club of Chicago. Her work includes dozens of solo and group exhibitions in the USA, including New York, Chicago and Milwaukee, as well as in Europe, including Paris, Berlin and Barcelona.

The Zamenia exhibition is an opportunity to get to know more about the work of the artist, who through material, texture and economy of form tells about universal issues. This is a proposal for all those who are looking for not only aesthetic impressions in art, but also a space to stop and their own interpretations.
