Zan Tempesta, or How Shakespeare Likes It

Brief description of the play - in the pen of its creators:
It's 1601, and an Italian comedy dell'arte troupe is stationed in the suburbs of London, brought there by a wind of compulsion rather than desire. Despite their efforts, they fail to win viewers. Moreover, part of the troupe, discouraged by the failures, rejects and goes to the English teams, taking the rest of the money with them. Among the other handful, emotions are heightened by the mystery that the head of the troupe, Zan Tempesta, carries within him. Italian comedians throw everything on one scale, deciding to create such a spectacle that will appeal to the London audience. They therefore try to use what currently best suits her tastes, that is, the plots characteristic of Shakespeare's plays.

The COMEDIANTY troupe, unlike usual, proposes a story about artists — dressed in historical costume, but invariably current. After all, artists still face the same problems — whether financial in nature or criticism from experts on the subject. An important element of this story will also be the issue of the female actress. The comedy dell'arte was the first to introduce actresses to the stage, and their presence aroused many emotions - from delight to aggression.

NATIONAL STAGE OF THE COMEDY DELL'ARTE AT THE PRAGUE THEATRE 52:
Created on the initiative of Teatr Praska 52 and Studio Dono in May 2016, it is the only such stage in Poland offering permanent encounters with art from the sixteenth century. Within its framework, the troupe COMEDIANTY works creating performances according to all the rules of Italian comedy, from real leather masks to looped intrigue full of unexpected twists. This combination of a centuries-old form with contemporary associations, references and insights makes this art not only current, but above all extremely attractive.
