The play takes place in August 1940, when, after years of separation, two former friends meet at a dinner together. Both are over seventy years old. They met at school and were inseparable, but certain events in the past caused their paths in life to diverge. After forty years, Konrad (Daniel Olbrychski) comes to visit Henrik's (Jan Englert) palace to confront the past. It's not going to be an easy evening as Henrik tries to get answers to the questions that have plagued him for four decades.
