Aleksander Fredra's Revenge belongs to the classics of Polish literature, sets the canon of comedy, is a model of situational comism and verbal humor. It is a masterpiece of Polish and one of the most critical pieces about Polishness, often in a mocking and oddly still current way pointing out our national vices and weaknesses.
The director of the play Krzysztof Jasiński (Director of the STU Theatre in Kraków) returns to the Jaracz Theatre in Łódź after 51 years since his directorial debut. What will Fredra's brilliant text sound like in 2022, almost 190 years old? Will the next generation of Raptusiewicz and Milczki take to heart the final, so much needed by everyone today? A comedy that never gets old certainly still has a lot to say about the modern world.
STATISTICIANS: Dawid Bierzgalski, Piotr Kowalski, Bogusław Przybylak, Krzysztof Rusiecki
