The story, which begins in a bourgeois house, passes through the ballroom to end... in prison, has entertained audiences around the world for almost a century and a half. A series of hilarious mistakes, comic rants and love games create a unique atmosphere and allow you to experience a wonderful evening at the opera, filled with singing and laughing. The title's revenge is Dr. Falke's perverse fortel, who, in an act of revenge, throws a confusing intrigue on a friend. The atmosphere of fun and intoxication permeates Tuwim's superbly translated libretto and captivating music. On stage, soloists, choir and ballet of the Opera na Zamek and a wealth of costumes and scenography! Recognized for good reason as the brilliant Revenge... it is saturated with energy to be felt!” If you take a closer look at these three acts, it is easy to see that they represent three distinct worlds: act I is a French boulevard comedy, based on brilliant dialogue, witty, surprising situations and daring erotica; act II is a typical operetta in a new - then new - style, full of disguises and the unbelievable caused by them qui pro quo, full of dance, champagne and crowned with a powerful comic opera style finale; act III is a Viennese stomach-moment in the Nestroyo-style. Strauss had the difficult task of linking these three worlds with uniform music, of imposing stylistic homogeneity.” Lucian Kydrinski
