The Representation Ensemble returns to the stage with a program that combines literary sensitivity, musical freedom and the unique history of an extremely colorful formation on the Polish stage. This is a concert for those who appreciate a song with lyrics, intelligent humor, multilingual inspirations and a repertoire created with extraordinary attention to the word.
Founded in 1983 in Warsaw, the band attracted crowds already in the 1980s with programs dedicated to the works of Catalan bard Lluís Llach, French master of song Georges Brassens and Sephardic songs. The artists themselves translated, developed and interpreted the works, creating their own recognizable style — far from the stage randomness, close to literature, cabaret and involved song.
After years of suspension, the group returned to the stage in 2006, and their concert album “Kumple to grunt” was awarded the status of a gold record. Another important project was the book with the album “The Wall — Songs of Lluís Llach”, reminiscent of the songs performed by the band back in the 1980s. Today the Representation Team meets the audience again, presenting a program composed of both older and newer songs.
