Ensemble “Silesia” for the Independent
A collection of the most famous and beautiful patriotic songs, which in the national tradition accompany state, military celebrations and anniversaries of the most important historical events. The program is complemented by national dances: “Polonez”, “Mazur”, “Kujawiak”, the beautiful “Krakowiak” and the most characteristic of the Ensemble, the Silesian “Trojak”. These are dances in which our national character is reflected like in a mirror: pride, romance, but also exuberance full of folk color. This program was created on the 100th anniversary of Polish independence. It evokes patriotic feelings, cultivates the memory of heroism and is an appeal to the heroism of Polish weapons. In it we will hear, among others, the representative song of the Polish Army “We, the First Brigade” in a unique elaboration by Stanisław Hadyna, “Hymn of the Haller Army” or “Hymn of the Home Army”, composed for the choir and orchestra of the “Silesia” Ensemble by Krzysztof Dziewecki. Popular songs close to the hearts of Poles: “Czerwone poppies on Monte Cassino”, “Weeping Willows Rozszumiały się” or “Ułan and a Girl” delight with their choral performance.
