In Yazdow, amid the paths trodden by people, animals and the wind, a story of coexistence is born. In the spirit of deep ecology, four totems were created facing the four sides of the world, like guardians and witnesses of the relationship between the inhabitants and the landscape.

The totem is a sign of recognition, a common mirror in which the community can perceive its own reflection. It is also the host and caretaker of the place, a form that brings together care, mindfulness and intentions. Each of the totems consists of six hollow shapes, resembling vessels waiting to be filled. With the passage of time, the stories, dreams, secrets and traces of the presence of those who make up the Yazd will be embedded in them. Perhaps the totems will be inhabited by the Spirits of Place; elusive but perceptible, and the Wonders: peculiar, unobvious, elusive, elusive of simple definitions.

The opening of the project will be the first gathering. A meeting around forms that are just beginning to speak in their own voice. It is an invitation to listen to the stories hidden among the trees and wooden houses. Subsequent workshops and meetings will become a ritual, during which totems will slowly fill with meanings. One such meeting will be a workshop on creating ofud. Ofudy are simple talismans/protective scrolls derived from the Japanese Shinto religion, but they are also reflected in many other distant cultures. The technique and the history behind this tradition will be presented.

An important gathering will also be the Traditional Circle of Conversations addressed to the Free Driving Community, people living and working in it.

The final gesture, crowning the exhibition, is a joint ceremony to embed the totems in the places chosen for them. In the ritual passage through Jazd, residents, artists, musicians, dancers and all those willing to accompany them on their journey from the DRC to the four corners of the world. There, at the points marking the symbolic gates of the estate, they will assume the role of guardians of the place, witnesses of memory and bearers of local stories.

HEX is an artistic group consisting of six people (Adrianna Konopka, Zuzanna Litawińska, Weronika Pietrzak, Anna Rutkowska, Jakub Sobolewski, Aleksandra Szczodry), created in the spring of 2024. The name HEX comes from a six-pointed star - a unicursal hexagram, which can be drawn with one continuous movement of the hand. The symbol dates back to the 16th century and was described by Giordano Bruno as a figure of love. This positive and affirmative aspect helps our group to work well with each other. The intertwining threads in our work refer to the eternal mystical search, the connection between visible and invisible things. We are interested in topics such as alchemy, herbal medicine, mythology, folklore, astrology, shamanism and folk botany.

Access and parking:
Cars are not allowed to enter the Osiedl Jazdow.
Currently, renovation works are underway on Jazdow - alleys and lawns are dug up.
There is no parking on Jazdow. We encourage you to come to the cottage by public transport or by bicycle.

The space of the Rotary House of Culture is temporarily not fully accessible to people with mobility disabilities.
The wheelchair driveway is currently out of use due to renovation work. Three steps lead to the porch. In the cottage there is a toilet adapted for people with disabilities (handles, possible transfer from the left side of the shell).
