An interactive, multi-sensory live audio drama for children, adolescents and adults
“Invisible” transforms the story “The Little Prince” by Antoine de St. Exupery into a captivating live audio drama and a multi-sensory experience for children and adults. Narration, dialogues and songs alternate in musical theatre.
In addition, we include touch, smell, and sound in the narrative. Spectators enter a dark room, which is only illuminated by flickering stars on the ceiling. They are then blindfolded and experience the milestones of the story through sounds, song, nuanced textures and smells, which all correspond to the unfolding events.
This adaptation underlines the profound ability of our senses to open up new dimensions of perception and makes it possible to experience the insight of the story that the most important things are invisible to the eye.
Stylistic tools and methods: This live audio drama is based on elements of narrative and musical theatre. The narrative is also extended by live sounds (in the style of Foley art), specifically used olfactory elements and haptic stimuli. These tools create emotional and narrative transitions and make the inner world of the characters physically tangible. In this way, the piece expands the classic possibilities of radio theatre with an immersive, multi-sensory narrative level.
