Tired Death (Destiny)

A girl whose death prematurely took her beloved tries to make her way to the land of the dead to meet him.

Death presents a young woman with three possibilities to save her lover. The heroine must learn from the stories she has heard about love and destiny, each of which takes place in a different setting: German, oriental - as in the Tale of a Thousand and One Nights, Renaissance Venice and Chinese.

Tired Death was the first significant film in the work of Fritz Lang, a leading and extremely prolific creator of German expressionism, who made history in cinematography with such works as Nibelungi (1924), Metropolis (1927) and M the Murderer (1931). One of the sources of inspiration during the filming of Tired Death was Victor Sjöström's Death Furman. The main female role was played by the phenomenal Lil Dagover.
