Is taking care of yourself just washing your hands and teeth? During our workshops, we will prove to children that taking care of shape and well-being is so much more!
We will talk about sleep, exercise, rest, fresh air, healthy eating, drinking water and screen time. We will look at different everyday ways to take care of ourselves and consider which ones are particularly important to us.
Each child will design their own “Purgatory Sign” — a simple pictogram, symbol or graphic logo depicting the chosen principle of self-care. Inspired by the graphic language of the exhibition, participants will create their signs using simple, expressive forms, looking for a way to present the chosen idea in a clear and imaginative way.
To do the work, the children will use a black marker on white paper, and they will complete the whole thing with one strong, colorful touch. The resulting works will create a collection of contemporary “Purgatory” symbols — simple, funny and a little perverse.
In a light and engaging way, we cover topics important for children's development: from hygiene and sleep, to relationships with screens and taking care of mental well-being.
The task of translating an abstract concept (e.g. “rest” or “fresh air”) into a simple graphic sign perfectly stimulates visual thinking and the ability to synthesize.
Classes strengthen social competence, teach mindfulness for one's own needs, and allow the class to look at itself in a new, creative role outside the school bench.
The classes are inspired by the exhibition of illustrations about hygiene by Esther Młowka, who in a light, humorous and imaginative form encourages the youngest to look at the daily rituals related to the care of cleanliness and well-being.
