A completely different Christmas

A Christmas story about relationships in a pack family

It's a cold and festive night. Babysitter Krzysia drifts off to sleep, Dad is at work all the time, and Mom spends the holidays with her new family and newborn brother Krzysia. And Krzyś? Krzys is lonely. Is this what Christmas is supposed to look like? Fortunately, the boy has with him his beloved books and favorite stuffed animals, which will never leave Krzysia alone...

The play “A Completely Different Christmas” is a story about longing, the power of imagination and the fact that even in the darkest nights you can find light. This is an emotional journey into the world of childhood and at the same time a modern story about a patchwork family. The creators of the show remind us that the true value of Christmas lies in relationships, not in material goods.

The author of the text is Artur Pałyga, one of the most respected Polish playwrights, the director of the play is Joanna Zdrada, the chief and artistic director of the Lalka Theater, the scenography is in charge of Julija Skuratova, whose works have gained recognition on many international stages. The music was composed by Iwona Skwarek, singer, composer and music producer, known for the Rebeka duet.

The performance took part in the 31st National Competition for the Exhibition of Polish Contemporary Art.
