HE: Affected by the madness of men in their forties, desperately seeking runaway youth in subsequent romances.

SHE: addicted to unsuccessful suicide attempts, standing on the verge of a nervous breakdown and of course... affected by the madness of women in their 40s.

THEY: A marriage going through a major crisis. Marriage crises can sometimes be funny. The crisis in Italian marriage is simply a comedy.

Jealousy, love, affection — all these feelings will be put to the test when HE proposes to change their marriage to an open relationship, and SHE, initially hostile, finds herself in the change quite well.

The farce written by Italian Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo, his wife Franca Rame and their son Iacob Fo is a perverse, hilarious comedy. But he is also a master of dramaturgy: it is a theater within a theater, in which direct contact and dialogue with the viewer occupy a prominent place.
