Poland premieres a harrowing monologue based on the memoirs of Secretary Goebbels, which has already been played to great success in many countries around the world. It is about the birth of evil, but above all about conformism, repudiation and responsibility of each and every one of us for the decisions we make. It raises questions that, with frightening actuality, we must ask anew even today.
The play's author, Christopher Hampton, is an Oscar winner for his screenplay for “Dangerous Liaisons.” At the London premiere, the role of Pomsel was played by the outstanding British film and theater actress Maggie Smith. On the Polonia Theater in this role we will see Anna Seniuk, who for the first time in her career performs in a monodrama.
We would like to thank Ms. Justyna Kowalska for lending her image to the film materials in the play The Life of Mrs. Pomsel” and to the Bellona Publishing House and its editor-in-chief Krzysztof Adamski for agreeing to lend one of the photographs used in the performance.
