Seven Deaths is a cinematic opera installation in which Marina Abramović stages seven of opera history's iconic and tragic female roles. It is a sometimes violent work about the existential underpinnings of man: identity, destiny and the great universal emotions.
For the introduction, prior to the exhibition experience, you will be well dressed for the meeting with the Cisterns and the current exhibition. The introduction lasts about a quarter of an hour and takes place above ground, after which you are sent down and experience the place and the exhibition on your own. The seven chapters of Seven Deaths have a total duration of approximately 1 hour.
Practical information:
It is free to attend the open introduction once admission is paid. Registration is not necessary, but as there is a maximum for number of participants, larger groups are referred to book a separate and private introduction.
Please arrive in good time, no later than five minutes before the start of the tour.
Please note that it is always cold and damp in the cisterns, and there may be water on the floor. Therefore, bring appropriate attire.
